The Official GKR website: www.gkrkarate.com

I'm a bit of a Star Wars fan, so this week's link is to a cool Sith mind trick: http://www.sithsense.com/flash.htm

Ok, here's a bit of a fun puzzle thingy: http://www.eyezmaze.com/grow/cube/index.html There are ten buttons around the edge of the grow cube. You need to select them in the correct order for the cube to reach its maximum growth.

I've been getting a few of those annoying chain letters recently. So this week's link is dedicated to stopping the enormous amount of rubbish circulating the net. They are both a waste of time and produce a deleterious fecundity of cognitive abilities. http://www.truthorfiction.com/ is a site dedicated to finding the truth behind those rumours.

This page is an interesting read. I'm not sure how accurate the information is, but its still got some good pics as you can see. The Rise and Fall of Kyokushin: http://crane.50megs.com/index6w.htm

http://www.wimp.com/karatemaster/

Hehehehe.. This is good (or bad) depending on your taste of humour. Its G-rated.

www.blogthings.com This site has a number of kewl tests and surveys you can take. It is designed for those who wish to publish the results on their blog - although its fun to do on its own. Some examples: "What type of coffee are you?", "How observant are you?", "What song should you strip to?"...

http://www.24fightingchickens.com It is always important to remember that you should take a grain of salt with everything you read online. This site has had a wealth of great information over the years, but its also been a little controversial. I don't agree with all the philosophies contained on the site - but I do like the most recent article on fear and taking offence.

http://www.society.webcentral.com.au/Secrets.htm Patrick McCarthy is one of the world's leading karate experts. He has been at the forefront of research for many years and has a wealth of experience. Some interesting reading here for those interested in developing a deeper understanding of kata.

http://www.kungfuonline.com/ To follow up last weeks link to Patrick McCarthy's kata page, here is a less traditional self-defense page. Some interesting reading and good articles here. Remember to have your grain of salt ready before you click..

http://www.pokerstars.com/ For a little fun (that can be addictive), try pokerstars. I've been a regular there for years. Its good fun, but it also keeps you thinking and learning. I might see you in there!

http://www.tekkenzaibatsu.com/tekken5 Ok, ok.. not really much to see there - unless you've just bought Tekken 5 for your PS2! (Which can be some people's entire reason for buying a PS2). It's a fantastic game - and I'll be sure to include some of the new moves in my next sparring session..

http://www.wkfkarate.com/index.php?lang=en Apart from the rest of the site which is reasonably interesting, there are some videos from the 2005 world championships. Men's and women's kata, kumite, and team events. Definately worth a look. The smaller videos load pretty quickly, but the larger ones are over 50Mb each.

Alright, this week's link is something I can across while researching for my article on ethics. Its a list of the world's all time 100 most influential people. Written in 1978, it is a subjective list and I was interested to find out why the Prophet Mohammed was placed at #1. Have a read for yourself.

http://www.amaana.org/ismailim.html

Details of the 1992 update can be found at

This week's link is a fantastic thinking game. Its pretty simple to play, but also addictive and I will admit frustrating at times. I do believe that we should do as much exercise for the mind as we do for the body - the type of thinking required for this game is useful for kumite.

http://www.ebaumsworld.com/games/orboxb.html

There are 30 levels, and if you can solve them all in less than 24 hours, you're doing pretty well.

As a teacher, I'm regularly frustrated by students' inability to speel.. Of course, I'm not perfect myself, so I use an online dictionary whenever I'm not sure about a word's spelling.

http://dictionary.reference.com/

I think taking the time to spell a word correctly is important. As you would know from karate training, its the little things that count in the big picture.

I know there's very little practical use for these online tests/surveys/questionnaires, but they can be fun and interesting at times.

Just a fun and currently addictive game for me..

Another fun and currently addictive game for me..

Nice series of ads - http://video.vividas.com/media/4588_CricketAustralia/web/

Two very cool videos! Watch the 2005 clip first if you haven't seen it.

Following last week's video link, this one is another interesting clip.. I wonder how this ad would have gone down on Australian TV..

This site is pretty kewl - it lets you make images with your own text inserted into them.

http://www.glassgiant.com

Ok, I'm aware that the site name appears to have nothing at all to do with its content. Video clips for lost 80's classics. Eg: Cyndi Lauper, Queen, Kiss...
