Go Kan Ryu Karate
GKR has started from humble beginnings to become one largest clubs in the world with over 40,000 students in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the USA. Registered students are able to train in any GKR dojo worldwide and can enter any of the many tournaments held each year in each country. There are several hundred full-time personnel and over 1000 volunteer instructors, who have enthusiastically embraced karate-do and give time each week to pass on the benefits of karate training to their students.
GKR is primarily a family club with parents and children encouraged to train together. Students from 5 years old to 85 years old obtain many benefits from training in GKR: improved fitness, improved confidence, learning self-defense, improved self-discipline, and meeting new friends.
For more serious students, there are opportunities to enroll in the Sensei Training Program, join one of the many Tournament Teams or perhaps even join GKR on a full-time basis working towards a management position.
With around 1000 dojos world-wide, students of all types can usually find a dojo/instructor nearby to help them achieve their personal and training goals.
