IGKF

2001 was the start of a new era. The International Go-Kan-Ryu Federation, also known as the IGKF, was born. The purpose of this move was to create a main body which would be able to oversee the development and representation of GKR on an international level.

The IGKF runs by four major objectives outlined very briefly below:

1. The IGKF is to represent the interests of GKR members on a global scale and interact with the various worldwide martial arts federations when dealing with matters of common interest.

2. Maintain international standards and uniformity of GKR  practice and teaching by means including the Instructor Accreditation Program.

3. Assist dealing with government bodies and other statutory bodies in countries where GKR is or soon to be operational.

4. Perform benefits and impact assessment in various countries where GKR is operational or to be potentially operational as well as monitor and resolve developments and new issues which arise.
